What BirthdayGIF collects when you make a birthday GIF, who it is shared with, and how to have it deleted.

Last updated: 2026-11-07

BirthdayGIF (birthdaygif.net) is run by Fanly, an individual based in Sihui, Zhaoqing, Guangdong, China. This page explains what we collect when you use the site and why. Questions or deletion requests: contact@birthdaygif.net.

The short version

  • You can make GIFs without an account. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number to do that.
  • The name you type is sent to our image provider to draw the GIF.
  • A GIF is stored on a public web address, and anyone who later asks for the same name in the same look and mood gets the same GIF.
  • To keep the free daily limit fair, we use one cookie and record your IP address.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

The name you type, and your choices. When you press Make, we store the name, the look (for example cake or flowers) and the mood (sweet or funny), together with the time. Please only type first names, nicknames or family titles such as Mom. Do not type anything private, like a full name together with other details about a person.

A device cookie. We set one cookie, bgid, that holds a random ID and a signature. It lets us count your free GIFs for the day. It lasts one year and is not used to follow you on other websites.

Your IP address. We record the IP address of each request that starts a GIF, so the free daily limit cannot be reset by clearing cookies. For IPv6 we count the whole home network (the first 64 bits) as one.

Account details, only if you sign in. If you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from that sign-in.

Purchase details, only if you buy. If you buy a GIF pack, our payment partner collects your email, card or wallet details and billing country. We receive your email, the order amount and the order status. We never see or store your full card number.

Server logs. Like any website, our hosting keeps short technical logs (time, address requested, error codes) to keep the site running.

Who we share it with

We only share what each service needs to do its job:

  • kie.ai, which runs the AI image model (GPT Image 2.6) that draws each GIF. It receives the name you typed and a description of the picture. It does not receive your IP address, cookie or email from us.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores the GIFs (Cloudflare R2) and runs the bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile). Turnstile looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots.
  • Waffo (Waffo Pancake), our payment partner and merchant of record for purchases. It processes payments, collects the tax due and sends your receipt, under its own privacy policy.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google. If we later show ads with Google AdSense or add analytics, we will update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
  • Authorities, if the law requires us to.

GIFs are public and shared

Each finished GIF is saved at a web address on img.birthdaygif.net that anyone with the link can open. To save time and cost, the same name with the same look and mood is drawn only once: the next person who asks for it gets the GIF that already exists. So a GIF with a common name like Emma may be seen by other people who type Emma. If you want a GIF removed, email us its link.

How long we keep it

  • Finished GIFs stay online so their links keep working, until you ask us to remove one.
  • Generation records (name, choices, device ID, IP address) are kept to enforce the daily limits and stop abuse. Ask us and we will delete the records linked to your device or IP address.
  • Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you also have the rights your local law gives you (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), including the right to complain to your data protection authority. Email contact@birthdaygif.net and we will reply within 30 days.

Children

BirthdayGIF is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), and payment details go straight to our payment partner. No method is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to lose.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
